Foundation Charters A Boy Scout of America Troop

BSA and MBTF – A Perfect Alignment

A perfect alignment of values was realized when the MBTF recently chartered a Boy Scouts of America Troop (BSA). Troop 76 was so named as a nod to 1776, the birthday of our country, and Major Taylor’s birthdate July 6. Ryan Wilcox, MBTF Executive Board Member headed up the chartering effort.

According to Carrie Packer, BSA District Executive for Weber and Morgan Counties, Ryan cherishes his scouting experiences growing up, “and wanted to make this happen. He is excited about how the Foundation’s mission of Train, Honor and Engage connects so well with the Boy Scout’s own mission teaching patriotism, community service, citizenship, both local and national, the importance of the American flag, and more.”

Troop 76 will meet at Greenwood Elementary, in North Ogden. The Troop is open to boys ages 11 – 17. In addition to troop activities the BSA District-wide activities planned for 2025 include the Klondike, summer camps, a faith hike, Bike the Bear (Bear Lake), and a Raptors Scout Night.
